Anger is reasonable and justified in the face of abuse and exploitation. What matters is what we do with it.
As Leymah Gbowee stood in front of a crowd of women at her church in Monrovia, praying for an end to the civil war that was raging in Liberia, she had no idea of the consequences that were about to unfold.
A specialist in healing from trauma, Gbowee and her allies had spent months visiting mosques, markets and churches in order to mobilize a nascent peace movement. By the late summer of 2002, she had become recognized as the leader of Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace, which held daily non-violent demonstrations and sit-ins in defiance of orders from Charles Taylor, the Liberian President at the time.
Eighteen months later, in August 2003, the war was brought to an end. Gbowee’s efforts, along with those of newly-elected President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, were recognized by the award of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize. I heard Gbowee speak at an interfaith conference in North Carolina in 2012, where she emphasized that the main challenge she had faced was not apathy. Liberians were already angry. (more…)

150 years ago Cancer was almost non-existent, but with the inclusion of processed foods, low-quality meat and dairy, and refined sugars into the standard diet, disease and sickness sprung up in the body, and quickly became a human epidemic. To this day, most mainstream medical doctors and pharmaceutical companies dispel the notion that diet and lifestyle choices are related to Cancer, and it is for this reason almost 600,000 still die from the largely preventable disease.
But on the forefront of natural means to combat already developed Cancer and allow the body to heal itself, a new derivative of the wormwood plant has made headlines. In a recent study published by Life Sciences, it was found that artemisinin (the derivative), coupled with Iron, can kill 98% of breast cancer cells in 16 hours.
Alone, the herb caused a 28% reduction in breast cancer cells, but partnered with Iron, the duo almost completely eliminated Cancer. What may be even more interesting, normal cells were not negatively affected in this experiment by the treatment. (more…)
Like with all the best things in this life, activating your third eye is a simple procedure and entirely mystical.
In our so-called waking state our energy predominantly moves outwards through our eyes. Our attention switches between our senses quickly and easily and we hardly notice, but it is our eyes that tend to be the “default setting” that our attention rests with. Notice how your attention constantly comes out into the world and you will likely see this to be the case for you.
There are exceptions, for example in the music business. The nature of the work encourages many musicians, sound engineers and producers to “shut off” their eyes and place their attention and energy entirely on their ears for long periods. Trying to get someone’s attention in a music studio environment can be difficult. They cannot hear you because of the music and they are so locked into their ears that they cannot see you, even if you’re waving madly!
Music producers learn to listen more acutely than your average. They learn to focus their hearing until they’re able to locate areas and move sounds in and around the soundscape to create a fluid, three-dimensional effect. It is subtle but it can be done and the results of training this outwardly pushing energy to the ears rather than the eyes can be heard on every great album in your collection.
Another exception are the quality body workers. Like musicians, they often work with their eyes closed but they are much more rare. They focus this outward-pushing energy onto their hands, through their fingers and even beyond them. Their fingers become their eyes and ears. They travel inside their patients body through their hands, their attention acutely focussed around their fingertips and beyond into their subtle body and into the patient. These natural healers can hone in on problematic areas within a body, with or without consultation. They can unearth potential problems and alleviate causes of problems which can often be very different to the symptoms felt by the patient. Many body workers are average, maybe even most. They tend to routinely follow whichever system they were taught and go through the necessary motions, but acutely tuning in to the individual patient is rare. Body workers that can train this stream of energy to move out of them through the hands can become great healers, they are worth their weight in gold. (more…)

America’s most convenient appliance – microwave ovens seem to be an absolute necessity in today’s fast-paced world.
They are currently present in at least 90% of homes in America thanks to their ability to cook and reheat foods or beverages in a simple, rapid way. The majority of people use this kitchen appliance without question and often think they are a reasonable alternative to conventional ovens for reheating or cooking.
However you may want to think twice before using your microwave, as there are actually many microwave dangers you probably don’t know of.
How Using a Microwave Negatively Impacts Your Health
In short, microwave ovens are kitchen appliances which are used to cook or reheat food by emitting microwaves.
Microwaves are a form of electromagnetic radiation and are on the low energy end of the energy spectrum, second to radio waves. The waves are generated by something called a magnetron – something found within every microwave oven.
Magnetrons produce an electromagnetic field with a microwave frequency of approximately 2,450 megaHertz (MGz), which is the equivalent to 2.4 gigaHertz (GHz). Microwaves produced within the microwave oven cause dialectric heating – they bounce around the inside of the oven and are absorbed by whatever is placed in the oven.

In order for something to heat in a microwave oven, water must be present within the substance. If water is not present, heating will not occur and it would remain cool. The reason for this is that water molecules within the food vibrate at an incredible speed, creating molecular friction which is responsible for the heating of the food.
The structure of the water molecules are torn apart and vigorously deformed. This is much different than any other method of cooking, as other methods such as convection ovens heat up food by transferring heat convectionally from the outside inward.
Hans Hertel, a Swiss scientist, states:

Cancer cells have a high metabolism and require much energy for rapid growth.
Researchers reported in the Journal Cancer that that garlic compounds produced reactive oxygen species in brain cancer cells, essentially gorging them to death with activation of multiple death cascades and blocking pathways the proliferation of brain tumors.
Garlic is probably nature’s most potent food. It is one of the reasons people who eat the Mediterranean diet live such long healthy lives. Garlic is also a powerful performer in the research lab.
Washington State University previously showed that garlic is 100 times more effective than two popular antibiotics at fighting disease causing bacteria commonly responsible for food-borne illness.
Glioblastoma is the most common and most aggressive malignant primary brain tumor in humans, involving glial cells and accounting for 52% of all functional tissue brain tumor cases and 20% of all intracranial tumors.
Treatment typically involves chemotherapy and radiation which unfortunately kills brain cells indiscriminately and offers a median survival rate of 15 months.
More than 90% of chemotherapy patients also die within 10-15 years after treatment. For the first time, organo-sulfur compounds found in garlic have been identified as effective against glioblastoma, and may soon offer effective non-invasive forms of cancer therapy without the deadly side effects associated with chemotherapy.
